Pollack FISP information report

Read our short report about the Pollack Fisheries Industry Science (FISP) project. This report gives some background to the project, and explains how anyone who fishes for pollack can contribute their knowledge to enhance our understanding of this important species.

The Pollack Fisheries Industry Science Partnership project is a collaboration between charter skippers, recreational anglers and researchers to discover more about pollack in Dorset, Devon and Cornwall. The project is collecting data about pollack populations, movement and habitats, as well as about fisheries interactions in the western English Channel.

The project is led by Dr Emma Sheehan and post-doctoral researcher Dr Thomas Stamp from the University of Plymouth. It is supported by funding from the Defra Fisheries in Science Partnership (FISP) scheme, and delivered in partnership with the Professional Boatman’s Association, the University of York, the Marine Biological Association and the Angling Trust.
